The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is a fable about following your dream.
If you have had your dreams which are dusted or if you are still pursuing them but feel that you have reached an impasse, the book is a must read for you. For any avid reader, this book has to be in their top reader list. For any person who is newly into reading, this is one of the best books to start with.


The book is about following your dreams. The main theme of the book being “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” The author in the beginning speaks of 4 obstacles in the pursuit of success – Prejudice, Fear of losing Love, Fear of Failure and Getting overwhelmed when the success is at the doorstep.


The Alchemist is a novel by Paulo Coelho, a Brazilian, and was first published in 1988 in Portuguese. It is international best seller and has been translated in over 70 languages worldwide. Notably, Coelho wrote the book in only two weeks in 1987.
